Overview

 

Work remotely and independently cultivating strategies and tactics for closing DEN business within a predefined geographic region; identifies opportunities and applications for both DEN products and services and customer organizations that position DEN as the vendor of choice. Participates in design, project management, implementation, installation and documentation of solutions; provides technical support for multiple products and applications; works with customers on pre-sales basis to develop product/system specifications and functional requirements. Is the regional market subject matter expertise with utility grid services programs; able to train others in on-the-job procedures.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

 

Co-develops the strategy and associated tactics for closing DEN business within a team environment and, within a predefined geographic region

• Identifies opportunities and applications for DEN products and services. This includes networking and developing relationships with key technical contacts within the Engineering and Operations organizations

• Positions Demand Energy Networks, Inc. as the vendor of choice

• Professionally prepares written documentation required for client presentations, RFP’s and other documents as required

• Provides technical support for multiple products and applications in sales presentations, solution demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company solution to ensure that the system is functioning according to specifications

• Works with customers on pre-sales basis to develop product/system specifications and functional requirements

• Assists customers in solution testing to ensure product quality and performance

• Conducts solution diagnosis and troubleshooting for resolution of moderately complex performance issues

• Participates in design, project management, implementation, installation and documentation of Demand Energy Networks solutions

• Works closely with Engineers, Operations Engineers, Real Estate/Site Planning and Project Managers to address their network build needs

• Interfaces with customers by phone, e-mail, and in person to answer application/system questions and help customers solve technical problems.

• Develops regional market subject matter expertise with utility grid services programs such as, but not limited to; demand response, ancillary services, etc.

Interfaces with and involves DEN engineering, SI&T, sales, and other key personnel to accomplish the above objectives

• Contributes technical data/information in the development/writing of technical documentation and articles on products, services, and applications, as requested

• Identifies additional products/services opportunities in customer organizations

• Able to train others in on-the-job procedures, assist in the direction, control or planning of an activity, and to think outside the box, be creative, and take initiative

• Works independently as a remote employee; be a self-starter with good team work and communications skills; creative visibility for activities as part of a remote work team

• Travel for extended periods within region and periodic out of region travel to support corporate initiatives as required

 

 

Qualifications

 

Self-motivated, comfortable operating without day-to-day direction

• Strong customer focus, safety and quality mindset

• Ability to work in teams, in a fast paced environment

• Experienced in customer training

• Excellent presentation skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office tools, including (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access)

• Strong business and technical analytical skills required

• Thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into technical, support and operational requirements.

• Project management skills including ability to multitask, prioritize, set and meet deadlines, work independently, and perform tasks with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.

 

Requirements

 

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field

• 5+ years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 3+ years’ experience in a customer facing field engineering or technical support role

• 2+ years of demonstrated technical experience in energy systems design/related experience

• Ability to travel 50% of the time
