The project analyst is involved in the sales process as an integral part of the sales and marketing team. Will accurately and efficiently build the capability of model energy storage projects providing project proformas to the sales team, technology, and operations; leads the evaluation of the project through a simulation base model; identifies resources necessary to accurately and efficiently evaluate a large volume of projects providing useable results either verbally or written to the end customer.
Further develop and set up project evaluation/modeling function currently in place
Coordinate with technology and operations to ensure the project evaluation process can be run quickly and accurately
Develops methodology and project evaluation process to review projects in many different markets
Supports sales team with pertinent market information related to project specifics (utility rates, IRR, market programs, etc)
Prepares modeling and project evaluation output for client presentations, RFP’s and other documents as required
Delivers presentations/reports to customers relating to the inputs/outputs of project evaluation/modeling at the request of customers and/or sales team
Develops regional market subject matter expertise with utility grid services programs such as, but not limited to; demand response, ancillary services, etc.
Support sales efforts in exceeding targets
Identifies additional products/services opportunities in customer organizations
Develops a repeatable project evaluation/modeling process
BS, Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Electrical Engineering, or related field
3-5 years of demonstrated technical experience in energy systems design/related experience
Experience in renewable energy project evaluation required with a specific focus on energy storage a plus
Thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into technical and operational requirements.
Strong customer focus, with unwavering attention to safety and quality
Adept business and technical analytical skills required
Self-motivated, comfortable operating without day-to-day direction
Experienced in customer training
Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
Intermediate proficiency with MS Office tools, including (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access)
Project management skills including ability to multitask, prioritize, set and meet deadlines, work independently, and perform tasks with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as a remote employee
Self-starter with good team work and communications skills; creative visibility for activities as part of a remote work team
Located in the NYC area to enable regular close contact with key customers, vendors and stakeholders
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time and for extended periods within region and out of region to support corporate initiatives as required
