Overview

This role will provide consultative support to management and employees with the goal of creating and maintaining the company Safety and Environment values and programs.  This position is primarily responsible for representing and supporting EGP NA in Health, Safety, Environmental and quality matters during new renewable energy generation facility operation and maintenance. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily HSE inspections. Maintain logs which include area/operation inspected, date of inspection, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual dates of corrections.
  • Conduct incident investigations and complete required reports. Maintain the event databases and daily production reports for prime and sub-contractors.
  • Maintain HSEQ deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution. A list of unresolved safety and health deficiencies shall be posted on the safety bulletin board.
  • Ensure sub-contractor compliance with safety & health requirements, environmental and permit requirements.
  • Attend safety meetings and monitor contractor’s HSE performance and adherence to site HSE policies and rules.
  • Assist contractor in development and maintenance of the Site Emergency plan.
  • Monitor the implementation of Site HSEQ Program for owner, contractor and Subcontractor personnel.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct HSE Orientation Training as required.
  • Responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of the site injury management program, including but not limited to, supporting the development of a program for reducing incidents and minor injuries in line with company goals.
  • Coordinate the investigation, documentation, and corrective action implementation for site safety infractions, near misses or incidents.
  • Support the contractor in the preparation of site safety meeting agendas and support of site mandatory safety meetings
  • Monitor site works through audits, inspections, and observations of work on site.
  • Update and maintain EGP NA databases, reports and spreadsheets. Complete required reports for site.
  • Act as owners’ representative of the Site Safety Committee, and issue notes and corrective actions from these meetings.
  • Report Corrective Action recommendations of Site Safety Committee to Site Management Team.
  • Develop and conduct training as needed.
  • Implementation and maintenance of the company HSE Management system (ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001) for the site.
  • Work with O&M team to develop procedures and transition site from construction to operations.

Qualifications

  • 4- 8 years of relevant work & education experience 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database applications (SAP a plus)
  • Ability to be on call or work off hours as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with heavy construction and working knowledge of relevant regulations
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
  • Comparing, copying, calculating, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
