Works remotely and independently in coordination with sales, product marketing, and engineering as a critical link between internal technical resources, the end customer and key stakeholders; provides leadership in pre-sales functions to enable efficient and data-driven assessment; clearly communicates the range of solutions/benefits across the spectrum of performance, cost, risk and regulatory compliance to provide value to the customer while maximizing business results. Possesses deep technology and application knowledge of energy storage; hands-on energy storage system modeling experience; quickly and accurately identifies solutions; delivers actionable market requirements; has insight into changing technology and evolving competitive threats to continuously improve and refine its offerings in a fast-changing market.




    Highly flexible in day-to-day activities easily moving from direct customer interface, to sales support, to engineering engagement and interaction with key stakeholders including regulatory organizations

 Excels in diverse roles including system modeling and design, customer and channel partners training

 Co-develops strategy and associated tactics for closing DEN business within a team environment and, within a defined geographic region

 Focuses diligently on enabling the sales team to exceed targets; positions DEN as the vendor of choice

 Identifies opportunities and applications for DEN products and services; includes networking and developing relationships with key technical contacts within the Engineering and Operations organizations

 Professionally prepares written documentation required for client presentations, RFP and other documents as required.

    Responsible for (either directly or through others) site level engineering and design

 Delivers expert product demonstrations utilizing product knowledge blended with customer needs and insights gained through industry experience

 Works with customers on pre-sales basis to develop product/system specifications and functional requirements

 Interfaces with customers by phone, e-mail, and in person to answer application/system questions and help customers solve technical problems.

    Develops regional market subject matter expertise with utility grid services programs such as demand response, ancillary services, etc.

 Contributes technical data/information in the development/writing of technical documentation and articles on products, services, and applications, as requested

 Able to train others inside and outside the organization and to think outside the box, be creative, and take initiative

 Works independently as a remote employee; is a self-starter with good team work and communications skills; creative visibility for activities as part of a remote work team

 Travel for extended periods within region, and periodically out of the region to support corporate initiatives as required







    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related technical degree

 5+ years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

 3+ years’ experience in a customer facing field engineering or technical support role

 2+ years of demonstrated technical experience in energy systems design/related experience

 Located in assigned territory to enable regular close contact with key customers, vendors and stakeholders

 Self-motivated, comfortable operating without day-to-day direction

 Strong customer focus, with unwavering attention to safety and quality

 Ability to work in teams, in a fast-paced environment

 Experienced in customer training

 Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills

 Intermediate proficiency with MS Office tools, including (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access)

 Strong business and technical analytical skills required

 Thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into technical and operational requirements.

 Project management skills including ability to multitask, prioritize, set and meet deadlines, work independently, and perform tasks with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.

    Travel required up to 50% of the time and up to 25% of the travel will be outside assigned area.
