Overview

 

Participates in design, project management, implementation, installation and commissioning of energy storage solutions; provides technical support for multiple products and applications; works with customers on pre-sales basis to develop product/system specifications and functional requirements. Is the regional market subject matter expertise with utility grid services programs; able to train others in on-the-job procedures

Responsibilities

 

 

Performs site evaluation, develops preliminary design drawings, cost estimates and customer proposals working with the sales engineer

 Participates in design, project management, installation, commissioning and documentation of Demand Energy Networks solutions

 Professionally prepares written documentation required for client presentations, RFP’s and other documents as required

 Provides technical support for multiple products and applications in sales presentations, solution demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company solution to ensure that the system is functioning according to specifications

 Works with customers on pre-sales basis to develop product/system specifications and functional requirements

 Assists customers in solution testing to ensure product quality and performance

 Conducts solution diagnosis and troubleshooting for resolution of moderately complex performance issues

 Works closely with Engineers, Operations Engineers, Real Estate/Site Planning and Project Managers to address their network build needs

 Interfaces with customers by phone, e-mail, and in person to answer application/system questions and help customers solve technical problems.

 Develops regional market subject matter expertise with utility grid services programs such as, but not limited to; demand response, ancillary services, etc.

 Interfaces with and involves DEN engineering, SI&T, sales, and other key personnel to accomplish the above objectives

 Contributes technical data/information in the development/writing of technical documentation and articles on products, services, and applications, as requested

 Identifies additional products/services opportunities in customer organizations

 Trains others in on-the-job procedures, assist in the direction, control, or planning of an activity

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

    BS, Electrical Engineering, or related field

 3-5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

 3+ years’ experience in a customer facing field engineering or technical support role

 2+ years of demonstrated technical experience in energy systems design/related experience

 Thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into technical, support and operational requirements.

 Proficiency in AutoCAD software for developing one-line drawings and site plans preferred

 Self-motivated, comfortable operating without day-to-day direction

 Strong customer focus, safety and quality mindset

 Ability to work in teams, in a fast-paced environment

 Experienced in customer training

 Excellent presentation skills

 Excellent oral and written communication skills

 Intermediate proficiency with MS Office tools, including (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access)

 Strong business and technical analytical skills required

 Project management skills including ability to multitask, prioritize, set and meet deadlines, work independently, and perform tasks with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail

    Flexibility to work sometimes irregular hours late/early business day, weekend

Strong mechanical aptitude

  OSHA 10 certification and training preferred

  Valid driver’s license with safe driving record

  75% travel to sites in assigned area, with additional company travel as required
