The Seasonal Fishway Operator will perform duties to facilitate safe upstream passage of diadromous fish and eels. The equipment operates at least hourly from 8AM to 4PM seven days a week from early April to early-mid July.
Counting and recording of different species lifted.
Help various fish agencies load fish into transfer trucks.
Maintain and record proper conditions for ideal passage.
Help with any public tours.
Maintain cleanliness of Counting room and equipment.
Operate equipment necessary to lift and transport fish upstream.
High School diploma or equivalent
0-2 years of related experience
Demonstrated mechanical and/or electrical skills as applied to turbines, generators, large diesel engines, compressors, pumps, motors, valves and related equipment and systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Average computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, SAP, Outlook)
Ability to solve practical problems and provide applicable solutions.
Strong work ethic
Ability to frequently climb ladders and walkways
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from the floor to the waist
