    This internship position will be responsible for improving and automating processes in an remote operations control room for renewable energy. Working with the Manager, Control Room Operations and the Operations Team, the individual will learn about remote operations through a state of the art SCADA system, and use that knowledge to assist in the enhancement of processes through the application of technology. The individual should be creative and driven, with a passion for programming and automation. Through this position, the individual will gain knowledge of Electrical Generation operation, Electricity markets, grid operations, renewable technologies, and advanced networking concepts for remote operations.

    Additionally, the individual will be a part of the dynamic team to implement a new software platform for the Control Room, involving networking, configuration, training, and supporting the roll out, including troubleshooting issues that arise.

    The intern should have an Engineering or Computer Science background, related to Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or Renewable Technologies, or process automation.

    Any knowledge or exposure to the following specific subject will be highly regarded: SCADA systems, Power Generation/Transmission/Distribution, Real-time generation operations, MPLS Networking, Electrical Energy Markets.


    Degree area of concentration preferred: Computer Science, Programming, Application Engineering
