The intern will be responsible for working with the Manager, Control Room Operations as well as the Control Room Lead Operator and Control Room Support Specialists, to develop and design specific training modules covering electrical fundamentals, control room operations, technology specific operations, and grid operations topics. Intern may participate in ad-hoc training sessions, and use CMR resources as well as Subject Matter Experts to develop training material. Training topics are outlined in the Control Room Qualification, Training and Assessment Program (QTAP).
Additionally, intern will assist in the Wind Turbine Reset Project, attending meetings, developing work scopes, and assisting in the completion of deliverables alongside the CMR support team. This will be in support of a project to create processes, procedures, tools, and training to add individual turbine resets to the scope of the CMR responsibility in 2018. This will entail understanding the business, technical, contractual, economic, and operational aspects of this activity.
Training Material Development - Enhance existing training material and create new material for fundamentals, electrical theory, and other needed training modules. Would involve learning new topics, working with various group’s SMEs, and a fair amount of PowerPoint work.
Wind Turbine reset project - we will need tools, procedures, training, etc. for this project. An intern could work with the project from beginning to end, learning the business, operational, and technical sides of a project like this.
