  • Overview

    This position is responsible for managing, monitoring and coordinating all commercial and compliance aspects of EGPNA's Renewable Energy portfolio to maximize their value to the Company. The primary function of the Asset Manager is to assist in all aspects of the accounting, financial, capital and operations of the cash equity and tax equity portfolio. The Asset Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for investors for operating projects. This role collaborates with multiple people in the wind solar group and has expanding responsibilities as new projects are added to the portfolio. Overall management of the portfolio requires tactful commercial negotiations with joint venture partners, tax equity and cash equity counterparties and third party service providers to ensure maximum operating and financial performance of all assets in the portfolio. This position reports to the Director of Finance. 

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and communicate to JV Partners the reporting of joint venture related deliverables including development of each asset’s quarterly presentations (financial, operational, environmental, and safety) as well as other periodic required reporting in the JV agreement.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for investors in operating projects and maintain responsibility for compliance with commercial requirements in partnership agreements, including coordinating across departments to ensure investor requests are fulfilled promptly and ongoing obligations to partners are fulfilled.
    • Coordinate main departments with the goal to maximize operational and financial results of all projects in the portfolio. Establish consistent approach to management of projects in portfolio to capture best practices and leverage lessons learned across the group.
    • Proactively monitor project performance and draw on contractual and/or negotiation skills to influence actions to support favorable operational and financial results.
    • Establish framework for compliance with contractual requirements of PPA’s, loans and Joint venture documents in portfolio.
    • Lead the planning, budgeting and analysis of financial results for the portfolio of assets.
    • Point of contact to Development and Origination groups for all new projects under consideration for their portfolio.

    Qualifications

    • 4-6 years of experience in renewable energy, project or structured finance lending, asset management or loan compliance.
    • Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or related business administration field. MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
    • Ability to influence action through effective negotiation
    • Ability to build consensus among both internal and external stakeholders
    • Ability to understand the nuances and details of as well as manage and analyze complex commercial and financial contractual transactions
    • Experience with tax equity and/or project finance transactions, complex project agreements and loan documentation, and reporting requirements related to loan compliance.
    • Ability to explain tan equity and/or project finance requirements to internal stakeholders
    • Knowledge of financial and credit analysis including ability to develop plans and analyze pro forma financial models and financial projections/forecasts
    • Thorough understanding of activities associated with asset monitoring including compliance with cash/tax equity documentation
    • Ability to identify key drivers of financial performance of assigned assets
