  • Overview

    This position will manage multiple, high-value renewable energy power project developments through the full life cycle for EGPNA; will conduct and support business development and project evaluation activities in Canada and across renewable technologies.  Will coordinate an interdisciplinary team involved in all stages of project development, from conception through handover to Engineering and Construction (E&C), and continued support through COD. The position is also responsible for supervising and mentoring Business Development Associates.


    • Manage the due diligence of the potential acquisition of project opportunities from development partners coordinating a team consisting of project specialists to support a project’s development including regulatory consultation, permitting, basic legal review, basic engineering review, and financial model assumptions, including the coordination of several functional areas internal and external to EGPNA. 30%
    • Monitor project economics throughout project life cycle to ensure that the project is meeting the estimates of the financial model; locate and review any discrepancies and report said discrepancies to senior management as needed in order to identify causes of overages and improve the construction of future models and financial assumptions gathering. 30%
    • Obtain internal approvals to allow projects to progress, including processing PRs/POs/SES documents, initiating WBS documentation, preparing documentation for Investment Committee approval, and Handover to E&C. Report on project development status to management via written reports and participation in weekly calls. 10%
    • Represent project and Enel externally to establish and support Enel’s corporate social responsibility policy, which includes managing landowner and community relationship; and participate and track local project jurisdictional legislation and other regulatory affairs to support entitlement of development projects. 5%
    • Support the E&C team during the construction process. 5%
    • Support AFC and legal in various financial transactions with third parties (tax equity, construction financing, etc.) to ensure transaction terms are as favorable to EGPNA as possible for projects; assist with the negotiations of commercial agreements. 10%
    • Create and improve upon internal reporting documentation and procedures to facilitate information flow/work load for functional areas within the company, and to build documents for consistent and complete message to all stakeholders internal and external to EGPNA.

    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Fluency in Italian and or Spanish and or French desired but not require
    • BS/BA degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline, Finance or Business MBA preferred
    • Minimum five years’ business development experience in the renewable energy industry
    • Project Management experience - developing and executing the planning, organizing, managing, leading, and controlling of resources to achieve specific goals.
    • Excellent presentation skills and an articulate speaker
    • Canadian citizenship from the Province of Alberta
    • Regular driver’s license required
    • Between 25-50% domestic travel and limited international travel could be required. International business experience desired
