    EnerNOC, a leading provider of energy intelligence software and solutions, is recruiting a Senior Accountant to join the world-class finance organization. The position is based in Boston on the Corporate General Ledger Team and will report directly to the Assistant Controller. This role is a unique opportunity to take ownership of key processes within EnerNOC’s Finance organization, including fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, other liabilities, and key areas of the monthly financial close process. Ideal candidates will be highly detailed with the ability to interpret and summarize key issues to drive optimal team performance.     • Serve as a leader for the financial close process and continued process improvement
    • Work with motivated mentors who are invested in your development
    • Coordinate and execute month-end close activities based on the close schedule
    • Responsible for execution of day to day and month end accounting functions for fixed assets, accounts payable, accruals, other liabilities, and operating expenses
    • Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of monthly journal entries in respective areas
    • Effectively and accurately reconcile account balances and be able to explain key changes in account balance and identify necessary adjustments
    • Collaborate with teams across various departments to verify necessary entries have been recorded
    • Collaborate with the budgeting and forecasting teams to assist in monthly budget to actual analysis when necessary
    • Assist in preparing relevant documentation for the year-end audit and interim reviews
    • Manage the vendor administration process to review and approve new vendors in NetSuite
    • Work directly with staff accountant and provide supervision and coaching as necessary


    • Minimum of B.A. or B.S. undergraduate degree required in Accounting or related field
    • 2-4 years of related experience in corporate accounting and/or public accounting auditing
    • Strong technical knowledge of current accounting standards
    • Ability to research and form own conclusions
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
    • Exemplary oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
    • Self-motivation and the ability to work in a fast paced, forward-moving environment
