  • Overview

    This position is responsible for supporting and overseeing the development, engineering, construction, start up, commissioning and hand over of all new Wind projects in North America with the focus on best in class hand off to operations.

     

    The Manager will be the liaison with Business Development (BD) and Engineering and Construction (E&C) departments for all new projects and will support, from the O&M perspective, an effective and timely execution of all phases of the projects from the development phase, to engineering, construction and the hand over to O&M.

     

    This position will report to the Director of Operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop O&M OPEX and CAPEX estimates for new projects in business development.
    • Actively participate in Project teams and support business development analyzing new project opportunities and provide any and all data necessary from O&M.
    • Actively build and maintain good relationships with local stake holders for new projects (local representatives, land owners, local community influencers, etc) along with Regulatory Affairs and Sustainability.
    • Actively support and coordinate with E&C on any O&M related items during engineering and construction phases of new projects to ensure all O&M requisites and requirements are met for an optimum condition of turbines and BOP.
    • Lead an effective and timely hand over from E&C to O&M with no significant open items.
    • Lead punch lists review activities with E&C and ensure timely closure of any and all pending items at any stage of the projects pre and post COD.
    • Develop and lead  hiring, training, mentoring and coaching for O&M Wind personnel, in collaboration with the regional O&M managers
    • Gather lessons learned, provide feedback back to BD and E&C and incorporate in future project technical specifications.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree.
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of related experience with strong knowledge of wind farm construction and operation
    • Solid understanding of power plant operating financials (revenue, costs, budgets, etc)
    • Strong Project Management skills. PMP a plus.
    • Ability to work in the development of a team and involve other in decisions when appropriate.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
    • Strong computer skills with experience on the MS Office including Word, Excel and MS Project.
    • Prior experience working with SAP and SAP PM a plus.
    • Ability to utilize knowledge and experience to make key decisions that are in the best interest of the customer and the company.
    • Excellent leadership and influence skills; Ability to drive and motivate team to achieve results; Ability to influence and inspire action.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Change management Skills.
    • Strong initiative and drive for high achievement and continuous improvement.
    • Able to interpret legal documents and agreements.
    • Up to 50 % travel required (domestic and international).
    • Valid Driver’s License.
