The FTM Product Manager (PM) drives the product roadmap for large, grid-scale battery energy storage systems to execute exponential growth initiatives.
Strategic: Refine and communicate product vision and strategy to enter new global FTM markets. Work closely with Business Development to leverage Enel Green Power (EGP) and the Enel Group’s substantial portfolio and work with stakeholders to execute our global FTM go-to-market strategy.
Ideation: Elicit, gather, prioritize, validate, and clearly communicate competing requirements by working with customers, partners, peer Product Managers, business development, sales engineers, project analysts, software and hardware engineers, operations, finance, customer success, directors, and executives.
Roadmapping: Plan and prioritize which FTM features will be developed and when they will be delivered by engineering teams and outsourcing partners.
Coordinate closely with Business Development and FTM Project Managers to balance project and global go-to-market requirements.
Coordinate closely with Hardware Product Manager, Technical Leads, and Global Procurement to evaluate vendor selection and testing.
Coordinate closely with Systems Product Manager and Technical Leads for hardware/software integration requirements and manage outsourcing options, standards, etc.
Coordinate closely with Optimization Product Manager and Technical Leads to add new value streams.
Coordinate closely with regional market-specific teams, Energy Cloud Product Manager, and Technical Leads for wholesale market access and systems interoperability and integration.
Coordinate closely with Executives and Director Product Management for prioritization and investment governance.
Features: Define, mock up, validate, and generate acceptance tests for FTM features to prepare for productive software development.
Deployment: Participate in Agile/Scrum daily stand-ups, release management, kick-offs, retrospectives, commissioning, operations, and related meetings and events.
Go-to-market: Support business development, sales and channel partners with demos, training, tools, modeling, proposals, marketing collateral, and subject-matter expertise to drive closing new business, cross-sales, upgrades, and renewals.
Domain expertise: Scour the market and conferences for partner interoperability, competitive analysis, and industry trends and communicate findings with stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technology in computer science, renewables, power engineering, mechanical engineering, or related degrees or experience. An MBA is a plus.
10+ years of enterprise software Product Management experience. B2B SaaS is a plus.
5+ years of experience in global FTM markets implementing a wide variety of FTM applications with energy storage for utility applications and understands controls theory and applications.
Experience with FTM markets and applications:
Renewables integration (PV+storage, Wind+Storage)
Capacity Markets requirements and integration with Ancillary Services control modes
Frequency Regulation, Frequency/Voltage support, Load Following signals, Spinning Reserve, and Ancillary Services
Experience with FTM sales and sales engineering process:
Knowledge of system sizing strategies and trade-offs
Capable of responding to utility RFPs and navigating gaps and contradictions in RFP requirements
Experience with FTM controls/EMS integration:
Interfacing with Utility SCADA and Distribution Automation systems including typical utility protocols (IEC 61850, etc.)
