    EnerNOC, a leading provider of energy intelligence software and related solutions, has an immediate need for a Customer Accounting Analyst to join our world-class Finance organization.  The Customer Accounting Analyst will support the customer-facing transactions underlying our multi-product customer base. We provide customers with a suite of energy management software and services offerings. This role serves at the crux of these transactions and will help ensure seamless transaction processing of cash flow related to customers who are also EnerNOC’s vendors. 

    Communication and cross departmental cohesion are vital in this position, and you’ll enjoy the ability to work with a variety of teams to conduct your work.     Responsibilities

    • Conduct quarterly billings and payments netting process in a deadline oriented environment.
    • Prepare supporting invoices and statements to summarize activity for strategic enterprise customers.
    • Prepare reconciliation of billing and payment transactions.
    • Research and coordinate with internal staff from accounting, business operations, or professional services to respond timely to inquiries and disputes. 
    • Deliver excellent internal customer service to support our Customer Care and Professional Services teams in their external customer interactions.
    • Understand our energy management product suite and key customer agreements.
    • Maintain organized documentation and files.
    • Identify opportunities and drive efforts to improve systems and processes to facilitate timely and efficient collection of receivables.
    • Any other tasks assigned by management.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of B.A. or B.S. undergraduate degree required
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business 
    • 1 - 3 years experience in public company environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Detail oriented
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Positive attitude
    • Strong research/analytical/deductive reasoning skills
    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
    • Good judgment and decision making skills
