  • Overview

    Manages deployment of energy storage projects in the Eastern United States to deliver projects on time, within budget while maintaining industry leading safety standards; leads organization in design, project management, implementation, installation and commissioning of energy storage solutions; provides technical support for multiple products and applications. Works with customers on pre-sales basis to develop product/system specifications and functional requirements; serves as the regional market subject matter expertise with utility grid services programs; able to lead and train others in on-the-job procedures.

    Responsibilities


    • Manages Engineering Project Managers and Project Engineers in the Eastern United States executing design, permitting, construction and commissioning of contracted energy storage projects

    • Implements standard procedures to perform site evaluations, develops preliminary design drawings, cost estimates and customer proposals working with the sales engineer

    • Apply knowledge and experience of technology and/or equipment to oversee field operations and provide direction to others

    • Lead Project Engineering in design, project management, installation, commissioning and documentation of Demand Energy Networks solutions

    • Professionally prepares written documentation required for client presentations, RFP’s and other documents as required

    • Develops standards incorporating multiple products and applications in sales presentations, solution demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company solution to ensure that the system is functioning according to specifications

    • Owns resolution; with account management, Sales professionals, engineering, product development and customer service to issues that arise during construction and commissioning

    • Interfaces with executive-level customer contacts by phone, e-mail, and in person to answer application/system questions and help customers solve technical problems.

    • Develops and documents regional market subject matter expertise with utility grid services programs such as, but not limited to; demand response, ancillary services, etc.

    • Identifies additional products/services opportunities in Western Region for increased returns on energy storage systems

    • Manage personnel by staffing and scheduling engineers and technicians in a manner that assures meeting committed schedules with the best customer service possible

    • Trains others in on-the-job procedures, assist in the direction, control, or planning of an activity

    • Participates in internal projects that help scale the business, implement best practices, and improve our safety, quality and processes

    Qualifications


    • BS, Electrical Engineering, or related field

    • 10+ years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

    • 5+ years’ experience in a customer facing field engineering or technical support role

    • 5+ years of demonstrated technical experience in energy systems design/related experience

    • Thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into technical, support and operational requirements.

    • Self-motivated, comfortable operating without day-to-day direction

    • Strong customer focus, safety and quality mindset

    • Ability to lead teams effectively through appropriate feedback, direction and delegation; listens openly and encourages feedback while maintaining an inclusive work environment and sets performance expectations to reach and exceed departmental goals.

    • Ability work and succeed in a fast-paced environment

    • Experienced in customer training

    • Excellent presentation skills to executive level customer representatives

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office tools, including (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access)

    • Strong business and technical analytical skills required

    • Project management skills including ability to multitask, prioritize, set and meet deadlines, work independently, and perform tasks with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.

    • Flexibility to work sometimes irregular hours late/early business day, weekend

    • Strong mechanical aptitude

    • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record

    • 50% travel to sites in assigned area, with additional company travel asrequired.
