  • Overview

    This position is responsible for all aspects of Business Development, ensuring growth directing and managing business development activities to ensure these are delivered in accordance with the strategic objectives for EGPNA.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage a BD team of 20-30 project managers, associates and permitting specialists covering different regions in the US and Canada and support their greenfield and/or brownfield development activities 35%
    • Manage and direct the partnerships with development partners and identify and constitute new development partnerships 35% 
    • Participate in the company’s decision making bodies (screening committees, investment committees) to support decision making on business and/or investment opportunities 20%
    • Prepare the Strategic Plan and Budget to support the EGPNA BD activities 5%
    • Management of the HR related issues of the BD team 5%
    • Leadership abilities to motivate, lead, manage, coordinate and direct project teams.
    • Interpersonal skills, diplomacy, win-win mindset, and effective strategic relationship builder with both internal/external stakeholders
    • Ability to navigate complex large organizations while maintaining a nimble & entrepreneurial approach
    • Experience in developing strategy, managing projects and methods; and driving decision making processes
    • Experience in corporate structuring, financial structuring, negotiating and closing joint venture and acquisition opportunities
    • Organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize and implement a range of business development programs
    • Thorough understanding of financial statements as well as an applied understanding of financial modeling (DCF)
    • Basic Legal knowledge, NDAs, licensing agreements, PPAs, and EPC agreements
    • Basic technical understanding of renewable technologies
    • Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple and fast changing priorities
    • Analytical skills – understand the economic, technological and permitting issues of a project
    • Languages (English and, optionally, Italian)
    • Presentation skills both verbal as well as in PowerPoint

    Qualifications

     

    • 10+ years in renewable energy business development or applicable experience
    • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
    • Thorough knowledge of power markets
    • Superior oral and written communication skills
    • 35% domestic and international travel
