  • Overview

    The Risk Analyst position is part of the global trading group and entails risk analysis and reporting of trading group’s PNL & exposures. Additionally, this position entails providing analytical support to business development and trading activities.


    • Maintain risk reporting to communicate position and PnL to the trading group and the management. Take initiatives to improve the existing processes and suggest new ones to help improve efficiency
    • Provide analytical support to trading in analyzing existing positions as well as new strategies in power, gas and FTRs/congestion markets
    • Provide support to business development by providing market information and analysis in a timely manner
    • Work with global middle office team on various projects and requests related to risk reporting and market analysis
    • Support accounting and finance in month end closings
    • Participate in trainings and seminars to enhance market and technical knowledge and stay up to date with current market trends


    • 0-5 years of experience in an analytical role at a bank, energy trading firm or a hedge fund, preferably covering power, gas and/or commodities market
    • Bachelor degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics and/ or Business
    • Experience and strong skills in Excel, VBA, SQL, Python, MATLAB
    • Understanding of standard risk metrics like VaR, position limits and stress testing preferred
    • Ability to work as a part of team and engage with other groups
    • Ability to demonstrate learning agility across new processes, technology and applications
    • Willingness to learn and interest in power and/ or commodities markets
    • Strong quantitative and data analytics skills
