  • Overview


    The Pre-Construction Manager is responsible for the assessment of the projects during pre-Investment Committee, pre-tender and tender phases focused on construction feasibility and contractors evaluation. During construction phase, the Pre-Construction Manager is responsible of managing the lessons learned from current and previous projects and support the implementation of corrective actions.


    This position can sit in either Andover, MA or San Diego, CA


    ·      Construction reference for the projects under development pre-Investment Committee; conduct site surveys, preliminary information/studies review, analysis and evaluation of the available documentation

    ·      Interact with Project Engineers, Construction Managers and Commissioning Leaders for the making of the Constructability Reports of each project under development, according to EGP's standard and based on preliminary studies, available information, site assessment, resources, budget, etc.

    ·      Support the tender process by managing and checking: scouting, bidder\subcontractor requirements, bid documentation (such as equipment fleets, manpower crews, assessment on Key Performance Indicators); sub-contract terms; safety issues during execution; work & supply scheduling; definition of battery limits; payment & penalty terms; constructability issues: temporary facilities, waste disposal, storage areas.

    ·      Actively participate in internal and external meetings during the tender phase, to ensure an alignment between EGP's Technical requirements and the information presented in the bidder’s proposals.

    ·      Provide an objective feedback for project awarding decision based on technical information shared during the tender phase

    ·      Actively participate in the preparation and finalization of the Contracts, ensuring the compliance of all Construction requirements / best practices, Technical Specifications, Lessons Learned and updated versions of the exhibits or annexes related to Construction activities

    ·      Support the management of relevant Lessons Learned from completed and ongoing projects, and ensure the implementation and follow up of the respective corrective actions and real time updating of future contracts.

    ·      Collaborate with Operational Excellence & Knowledge Management unit for the sharing, monitoring and the implementation of: procedures (OI and OP), lessons learned, Best practices, induction and continuous improvement within Construction units

    Support Construction units for implementation of CSV and Sustainability initiatives on construction sites liaising with Innovation and Sustainability and E&C units


    ·         BSc Degree in Engineering or Construction project management

    ·         Minimum of 4 years experience in construction or project management or related field within the renewable and sustainable energy industry

    ·         Strong leadership and team building skills

    ·         Experience in contractual documentation and technical specifications

    ·         General knowledge of environmental and safety requirements

    ·         General knowledge of Quality Control process

    ·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project

    ·         Good written and verbal communication skills in English

    ·         Experience with international company will be considered a plus. Strong ability to work cross functional

    ·         Team working attitude

    ·         Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments in adverse and extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces

    ·         General knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) environments a plus.

    ·         Strong leadership and team building skills

    ·         Availability to travel nationally and internationally up to 50% of the time

    ·         Valid Driver’s License
