  • Overview

    The ICT System Administrator II along with the ICT Generation System team, has complete responsibility to provide highly available, high performing server environments. This includes the operation of remote locations and geographically disparate data centers.  Together, all of these environments include physical and virtual servers, telephony devices, SAN storage, and other equipment and services.  The ICT System Administrator II must be able to effectively perform the required duties within a NERC-CIP controlled environment which host, or connect to, all aspects of the Enel Green Power North America IT landscape.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and enhance Active Directory expansion and security throughout Enel remote sites. Perform advanced systems security administration functions, including creating customer profiles and accounts in conjunction with the IT Security groups
    • Oversee Active Directory services domain account administration
    • Be the Subject Matter Expert on HP c7000 Blade systems, HP MSA 2040 SANs and Backup and Recovery operations
    • Be the Subject Matter Expert in VMWare VSphere 6x and its VMotion, HA and FT options
    • Be the Subject Matter Expert in Dell PowerEdge VRTX systems
    • Be the Subject Matter Expert in backup and recovery operations
    • Actively Mentor the ICT System Administrator I team
    • Work with vendors to diagnose, update and correct operational problems associated with specific hardware and software
    • Assist in the deployment and administration of physical and virtual server infrastructure
    • Assist in operating systems installation, upgrade, configuration, standardization and deployments
    • Participate in IT design and support for SCADA projects, facilities projects, datacenter infrastructure, and ICT projects
    • Lead incident review and root cause analysis, and escalate incidents as appropriate
    • When required, travel to other sites and offices for IT implementation and support
    • Guide ICT Administrator I team to perform systems tuning, storage management, patching, trending and administration
    • Provide Tier 3 support for end users
    • Responsible for resolving incidents and helping team to establish and sustain service level agreements
    • Periodically test systems, data, and environmental recovery procedures to validate the effectiveness of documented recovery plans.  This includes recovery due to individual system issues, cyber security events, or disaster recovery scenarios
    • Ensure all hardware and infrastructure software to versions and releases supported by the respective vendors
    • Create patching processes and upgrade processes for BIOS, operating systems, and software. Create rollover processes for replacing equipment prior to decommissioning

    Additional Responsibilites:

    This position must innovate by researching, testing, and implementing new and varied solutions in order to keep pace with current technologies in the industry, and within IT overall.  This position must also maintain appropriate security measures and safeguards, up to and including NERC-CIP compliance where necessary.  This position is NERC-CIP related and requires a 7-year background screen as well as 24/7 on-call availability.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
    • Five years of Systems Administration in a Windows environment
    • Active Directory and Group Policies administration
    • Expertise in VSphere environments, including related servers, storage (SAN), and network virtualization
    • Working experience in HP c7000 Blade environments
    • Working experience in Dell PowerEdge VRTX environments
    • Expertise in Enterprise backup and Recovery Platforms
    • Expertise in High Availability MS SQL Server databases configurations and/or Oracle relational databases
    • Familiarity with LAN/WAN topologies and troubleshooting
    • Understanding of firewall security and network segmentation
    • MCSE or VMWare Certifications Required
    • Knowledge of ABB SCADA and OSI PI systems connectivity and security preferred
    • Experience in Linux highly desired
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills within a collaborative environment
    • Project management experience
    • Prior experience working in the renewable energy industry preferred
    • Must have current valid driver’s license to operate in all 50 states and Canada
    • Must be willing to travel as needed.
