The Network Administrator will work under guidance of the senior Network Engineers to provide highly available, secure and high performing infrastructure environments. This includes the operation of remote locations and geographically disparate data centers. Together, all of these environments include physical and virtual servers, telephony devices, SAN storage, and other equipment and services. The Network Administrator must be able to lead and coordinate projects assigned and perform the required duties in an environment that operates in an industrial SCADA environment and business IT. Operations must be performed within the NERC-CIP procedures established within Enel Green Power.
Implement standard network design by configuring network for sites in operations and new power plants or office
Lead assigned projects and critical engineering meetings and provide network support in terms of coordination of equipment and circuit installation dates
Lead network related matters for assigned projects to support for SCADA projects, facilities projects, datacenter infrastructure, and IT/OT projects
Provide tier 2 hands-on and remote support for network and ICS end users. Responsible for resolving incidents and helping management to establish and sustain service level agreements. Includes but not limited to: server hardware, operating systems, remote access, firewall, data retention, backup and recovery, software package deployments, system patches, anti-virus clients, and LAN/WAN troubleshooting
Create patching processes and upgrade processes for network equipment and software
Design work processes for assigned tasks and ability to write procedures for implementation and troubleshooting activities
Create rollover processes for replacing configuration or equipment prior to decommissioning
Track network software licensing counts and expirations
Monitor infrastructure systems health, assess alarm conditions, conduct incident review and root cause analysis, and escalate incidents as appropriate
As needed, travel to other sites and offices for IT implementation and support
Perform routine audits of systems and software. Track new orders and coordinate delivery and receiving of IT assets
Work with vendors to diagnose and correct operational problems associated with specific network hardware and software
Periodically test systems, data, and environmental recovery procedures to validate the effectiveness of documented recovery plans. This includes recovery due to individual system issues, cyber security events, or disaster recovery scenarios
Maintain all hardware and infrastructure software to versions and releases supported by the respective vendors
This position must innovate by researching, testing, and implementing new and varied solutions in order to keep pace with current technologies in the industry, and within IT overall. This position must also maintain appropriate security measures and safeguards, up to and including NERC-CIP compliance where necessary. This position is NERC-CIP related and requires a 7 year background screen as well as 24/7 on-call availability.
