  • Overview

    This position is responsible for the Management of the Engineering group supporting the Hydro Maintenance, Repair and Capital Plan for all assets in North America focusing on A Reliability Centered Maintenance Program. This position will also have the overall responsibility to manage the Owner’s Dam Safety Program 

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:

    • Manage Engineering department personnel in the;
      • Performance of Component Criticality and Condition assessments
      • Performance of Failure Mode Effects analysis in order to.
        • Define plant maintenance strategies and requirements.
        • Development of a Capital Improvement plan.
      • Development of Scope of Works including Technical Specifications for all plant maintenance and improvement activities, including services and supplies.
      • Review of all maintenance documentation for completeness and accuracy.
      • Review and evaluate all maintenance results and define all necessary actions to include prospective budgeting and scheduling additions and changes.
      • Work with the Planning group to ensure that the SAP Maintenance Plans are updated to reflect all of the necessary maintenance processes and procedures developed in the analyses of portfolio performances.
      • Continuously review Maintenance Plans to ensure these continue to support Company Goals.

     

    • Work with the Manager of Planning in the;
      • Development of Maintenance Plans for all facilities in line with the maintenance strategies by plant.
      • Development of the Plan of Works for the Hydro Portfolio.

     

    • Work with the Regional Managers to support the implementation of plant maintenance and capital improvements.
    • Work with Regional Managers, Manager of Planning, to create technology level Plan of Works, Plan of Needs, Outage Plan and an integrated budget.
    • Work with Knowledge Management Manager and Regional Managers to create maintenance processes and procedures for the performance of defined maintenance.
    • Work with Operational Support to review outage and alarm analysis.
    • Work with Knowledge Management & Operations Support to develop KPI to measure the performance of the engineering group.
    • Through staff and coordination, this position will be responsible for the FERC compliance program
    • Interface with Regional Managers to develop yearly, 5 & 10 year maintenance plans.
    • Interface with Operations Support for any issue relevant to plant performance analysis to include the development of any action plans.
    • Interface with Control Room Manager on Hydro Plant Operations and Maintenance.
    • Support E & C and Business Development with the review of technical specifications and project plans for new projects or major upgrades or for the Due Diligence associated with the analysis of prospective plants for acquisition.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with Enel Green Power Central O&M technical groups.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local, state and federal agencies as they relate with the operational requirements of the projects.
    • Staying current with Industry trends and participate in seminars and training events as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree with Engineering License required and experience in dealing with the FERC.
    • Detailed knowledge of the Hydro technology and energy generation business.
    • 10 years + of experience related to Hydro power plant maintenance.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong initiative and drive for high achievement and continuous improvement.
    • Detailed knowledge and understanding of budgeting.
    • Strong ability in scheduling and planning and the flexibility to maintain such as conditions change.
    • Personnel management skills.
    • Able to interpret legal documents and agreements.
    • 20 % travel required (domestic and international).
    • Strong knowledge of power plant maintenance and operations, familiarity with the scientific process, data and failure analysis.
    • IT Tool knowledge required: Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, use of Excel Macro, Power Point
    • Additional IT Tool knowledge preferred: SAP, SAP PM
    • Driver’s License
