  • Overview

    This position is primarily responsible to provide support services on environmental and compliance issues to the Operations & Maintenance organization in the areas of; air emissions, water quality, existing licenses, recreation, wildlife, habitat and noxious weeds, cultural resources and wetland resources.

     

    Activities will be at hydroelectric facilities.  This position may also provide business unit support on environmental matters and related to; asset merger and acquisition, environmental costs and complex environmental resource studies such as avian, fish, habitat, air quality and recognized environmental conditions.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee regulatory compliance with the support of the regional HSEQ Specialists.
    • Oversee contact agreements of existing or potential environmental contractors or suppliers in order to expedite the delivery of services and purchased materials.
    • Interpret and determine relevant environmental regulations for EGPNA renewable energy projects based on in-depth existing regulatory process knowledge, review of web based information or discussions with agency personnel.
    • Manage compliance environmental studies for O&M.
    • Develop and maintain environmental activity project schedules and manage to the established budgeted costs.
    • May assist in environmental due potential asset acquisition and merger or potential sale, Including but not limited to the review of existing data room information and interaction with seller counter parts. Providing information to potential buyers of projects and respond to environmental inquiries from banks and other possible equity partners related to project financing activities. Prepare analytical reports on due diligence activities and environmental costs with support from manager.
    • Develop regulatory compliance matrices in the environmental areas listed above to provide implementation guidance on compliance matters to O&M.
    • Support ISO certification in the environmental areas.
    • Support O&M in tracking completion of requirements in the environmental areas listed above.
    • Advise and participate in developing appropriate compliance tracking tools and regulatory reports based on review of permits and facility operations
    • Support policy and procedures pertaining to EGPNA in the environmental areas listed above.
    • Monitor agency regulations and guidelines as requested by manager.

    Qualifications

    • Associates Degree or equivalent
    • Minimum of 3 years of related experience
    • Strong analytical skills
    • 40-60% travel required
    • Detailed knowledge of environmental requirements
    • Negotiation and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong public speaking skills.
    • Strong writing skills for complex project reports and regulatory agency submittals
    • Audit skills with the ability to reach mutually agreeable solutions
    • Proficiency in WORD and Excel software.
    • Microsoft project skills
