  • Overview

    The Material Supervisor is assigned to the Construction Team, and is responsible for supporting the Site Manager/Site Coordinator on material/supply acceptance, storage, handling on site and verification

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for Health Safety and Environmental standards and practices in accordance with OSHA and EGPNA safety plans and regulations. 
    • Support SM/SC in the management of the Delivery Plan, in accordance with works progress and schedule and interfacing with other Project Team Members; 
    • Assure the organization of storage area(s) considering the Delivery Plan and the work schedule. 
    • check the congruency of goods received with Bill of Quantities and IFC Design;
    • Verify the completeness of supply documentation (transport documents, factory test reports,etc.)
    •  Verify the quantity and condition of goods received, supporting the SM/SC in NC Report opening in case of defects detected. 
    • Supervise the handling and the lifting in the construction site of heavy materials and machinery 
    • Supervise the transports of materials and machinery in the construction site 
    • Receive the goods on trucks in the construction site and unloading and transport to the designated site location 
    • Verify specific transport plans to reach the construction site, keeping into account the conditions of the roads and the size and weight of the loads in collaboration with the Civil Supervisor, Site Manager and Site Coordinator. 
    • Ensures that the storage area(s) on the plant construction work is performed in accordance with the contract, project drawings and specifications.  
    • Accept the material and equipment on site after inspection and note any defects or shortages completing all the required inspection documentation/paperwork and daily reporting. 
    • Maintain records of material arrival and offload dates/times per the contract to minimize potential demurrage.
    • Assist with the day-to-day needs of the Construction Office

    Qualifications

    • Receiving and Inventory Control related experience 
    • Basic Level of proficiency for Office Software for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
    • Strong interpersonal skills for frequent interfacing with contractors, subcontractors, landowners and vendors 
    • Flexibility in working hours and working location to meet the needs of the job 
    • Knowledge of unloading methods, crane use and rigging requirements by vendor. 
    • BS Degree in Quality/Construction management or equivalent or 5 years of experience in support activities in large scale power plant construction can be considered equivalent;
      At least 5 years of experience in Quality control and Logistic during power plant execution
       
    • Valid Driver’s License;  
    • Extensive travel with temporary relocation to construction sites both domestic and intrnational for 6–12 month durations;  
    • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments in adverse and extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces.
